Contracts

Contract law is something that most people have had experience with at some point in their everyday lives. For example, most people have signed contracts for cell phone services, cable services or a lease agreement for an automobile. Contracts also play a large part in Chicago IP Law’s legal services and we have a combined 50 plus years of negotiating, drafting and enforcing contracts on behalf of our clients. In addition to negotiating contracts relating to the licensing of intellectual property, the vast majority of intellectual property litigation results in some type of settlement agreement. As such, we have negotiated and drafted hundreds of settlement and release agreements that have provisions covering contractual issues such as licenses, cross licenses, non-compete, confidentiality and financial provisions as part of the overall settlement of the litigation. We also assist our clients in developing licensing practices to help them monetize their intellectual property.
